THE ORIGIN OF 12 SHIO STARS

In ancient times, there lived a god. On December 31st the morning before the new year, the Godhead wrote letters to the animals throughout the country. The wind then spread the letters around the country.

In an instant, the animals received the letters, whose contents are like this:

"Tomorrow morning on New Year's Day, I'll pick the first animals to come here, from number one to number twelve, then every year I'll pick one by one of them as a General in order." Signed, God.

The stars are very excited and interested in it. They were eager to be General. However, there is an animal that does not read this kind of letter, the Cats who like to relax and sleep. He only heard this news from the Rat. The cunning rat tricked him and told them they had to get together at the site of the day after tomorrow on January 2, when they should have gathered tomorrow morning on January 1st.

All the animals are excited and thinking about victory, and they all sleep fast. Only Cow went straight that night, because he realized that he could only walk slowly. The cunning rat saw it and jumped up and rode on the Cow's back, but Cow was not aware of it.

In the morning, when it was still dark, Dogs, Monkeys, Pigs, Tigers, Dragons, Snakes, Rabbits, Chickens, Lambs and Horses all set out to the godshed.

As the sun began to rise, the first to arrive at the god's place was ... Cow. But then the Rats jumped forward and landed right before the Gods. So the Rat became the first.

Happy New Year God ... Rat said to God.

The cow cried because disappointed to be second order.

Behind them came the Tigers, Rabbits, Dragons, Snakes, Horses, Sheep, Monkeys, Chickens, Dogs and Boar. Thus they are designated as the winner of one to twelve in accordance with the order of his arrival.

The twelve animals are then called the 12 Shio Stars.

The animals celebrated the victory and feasted as they encircled the God. Then, the cat comes with a very angry face. He searched for Rat who had tricked him into coming too late. The cat ran after the Rat to and fro.

Since then began the Twelve Shio Animals era, starting from the first year of Rat, then Cow, then Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Lamb, Monkey, Chick, Dog and Pig Forest.

Cats that do not make it into the Twelve Shio Animals until now still chase the Rats around here for being cheated.
